Rightsizing

Rightsizing helps you think about which Claude subscription fits your usage. It shows what your usage would cost at API (pay-as-you-go) pricing, puts that next to the Pro and Max price references, and notes any plan pressure it saw. It uses your own usage in the selected range, and it does not pick a plan or a model for you.

What you see

• Four tiles: Tokens used, Typical monthly, Full-month pace, and Active days.
• A Monthly Usage chart — each month’s token composition (input, output, and cache) — beside a Metered-equivalent Cost chart showing that usage’s API-list-price cost (Actual), a pay-as-you-go equivalent rather than a subscription bill.
• Plan Decision Support:
  • Your usage reference — a typical-monthly figure and a full-month pace, both as API-equivalent amounts (not a subscription bill).
  • Current plan references — Pro, Max 5x, and Max 20x with their monthly prices, and a link to Claude’s pricing. These are price references only; they don’t guarantee a plan will cover your workload.
  • Observed plan pressure — whether Prism saw rate-limit or retry pressure in the range, with a link to Throttle for the detail.
• Model Usage — a table of requests, average token breakdown, and cost per model.

Reading the cost figures

The cost figures are API-equivalent — what your usage would cost at API pricing, not what a subscription bills you. A $ amount is a list-price estimate; a ~$ amount is approximate; a — means there isn’t enough priced data to show one (Prism never fills that in with a zero). Full-month pace needs at least five active days before it appears.

Use these references alongside your real plan and billing — Prism gives you the comparison, not the decision.
